4th of July – PRAY NOW for our troops in Iraq Tuesday, Jun 30 2009

Please pray!

I got the following letter from a dear woman I know and the email is from her son. Read it and then pray, seriously pray, please, especially on the 4th of July.

Dear friends,

Please pray for our troops in Iraq. Given the new rules of engagement our troops are in a precarious situation. Because of these new rules they are in a situation where they are at more risk then they have been before.

As a proud mom of an Infantryman I am asking for your prayer cover as they go into this holiday season. When you are  celebrating our freedoms that been hard won,  please remember these men and women, pay your respects and be vigilant in the process.

I include my son’s email asking for your prayers himself. He is an MRAP driver.

Here’s a fact about the upcoming Fourth of July. In all the wisdom of our political leaders, whoever it was, from the 1st to the 3rd Coalition Forces (American Troops) will not be rolling out in sector to conduct patrols.

Why? Because of a security deal with the Iraqis.

So think about this. Three whole days of no patrols. Three whole days of freedom for the Insurgents. Three whole days for those cowards to put Epps and Ides every 50 meters down each route.

So tell everyone that when we roll out on the fourth to pray more than ever.

Because I have no doubt that it will be a fourth of July that I will never forget. Our enemy is using tactics that no one has seen before now. They use EFPs (explosively formed projectiles) for their weapon of choice now.

For instance a convoy was hit by an EFP (it was a quad array EFP), which means it was 4 EFPs in one. It was hidden in the trunk of a car.  And that complex ambush was only a few shots fired… the things you hear. Haha. But we are still supposed to switch from MRAPs to Humvees. And don’t worry I’ll be alright”

Before that another convoy was hit by an EFP then as the dismounts cleared the road and checked for secondaries. They were hit again by an IED that was hidden in a tree. This IED was surrounded by ball bearings. And once more a convoy was hit with an EFP then it turned into a complex attack, where they were surrounded and took small arms fire from all directions.

Summer is here and things are getting more dangerous. Insurgents are getting bold and the Iraqi Army and Police are corrupt and just as bad. And to top it off. Because of this new security deal and hand over very soon we will not be rolling in MRAPs. Instead we will roll in Humvees.

So the billions of dollars that the tax payer spent on these new and life saving vehicles will not be used anymore.

So I say again, pray for us more than ever. This place is about to get ugly again real soon.

Getting Serious About Maturity Friday, Jun 26 2009

Someone in my generation (baby boomer) must have had a spirit of Peter Pan – because our mantra was to “never grow up, never grow up.’  Mick Jagger made being 30 a scary thing.  Because of serious health issues as a child – I never expected to live a long life.  Because of faulty theology – I thought Jesus was coming soon.  (Like before 1984).

Now I am 63 and 1/2 way through my expected 120 years  (see Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.)

So I am getting serious about being mature in a way that doesn’t gag me and a way that pleases God and a way my family can appreciate.  What does that really mean?

Here’s my ideas, see what you think.

As I go about my day I sometimes allow myself to feel rushed. When I allow my emotions or others to control me – it’s silly and immature. I need true breakthrough. Immaturity is to analyze the situation incorrectly, based on insufficient evidence. But faith is the evidence of things NOT seen and to judge the situation through the eyes of God and His Word.

This is when I need to be serious about maturity.  Go to God – get His sight, His vision, His perspective about what I am not seeing (money, time, house repairs, betrayals, etc.)

This is when I must remember all the Godly heroes of faith who allowed God to mature them through years of trials – Moses, Joseph, Jesus, Paul.  Maturing takes years.  And it takes looking back at past victories and learning from them.  It also must include looking honestly at stupid mistakes, selfish times, and things you wish you’d never done.  You must look at those times and ask yourself – why did I do what I did?  Without blaming anyone but yourself – for probably no one held a gun to your head to make you sin.

So these are my steps to maturity.

1.  Get quiet – allow the Lord to mature me gracefully and thankfully in whatever wilderness or prison I find myself.

2.  Spend only what our budget says is appropriate.  Forget the sales!  If we can’t afford it – I will rely on God to bring about another amazing sale for me if I need it.  Being a saver, investor, and giver is my goal.  Not being one with a well-decorated home,  the prettiest garden and giving great parties.

3.  Shut my mouth.  Shawta rebuked me yesterday in her darling way when I quoted a doctor about my condition.  Now Shawta is a nurse – a good one, but she was right – I was limiting God by my words.  Zip the lip and say only what God says.

4. Be focusing my eyes on what God says and does.  That will bring me into greater alignment with HIM and His plans for my life. God is in charge of maturing me.  It’s HIM I want to look like on that day.

5.  Be obedient to what God has already told me.  Jesus  learned obedience from the things which He suffered.  And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, Heb 5:8-9

6. Sing – praise – worship the God who daily gives me my battle plan, my grace to endure and to mature. It’s never been a penalty to spend time with Him anyway.

7.  Laugh a lot – life is too short not to enjoy every aspect of our time here.

I AM OPENING YOUR WAY: New Wars for New Blessings!

You might want to print the following word from the Lord. I would encourage you to read it each day for a week. I believe the Lord is really attempting to encourage us with this revelation.

On a previous Sunday, I saw sovereign openings and opportunities coming to God’s people. However, I saw many leaning on their own understanding and mixing in their own desires, which brought leanness in their souls. I then heard the Lord say:

“I am opening up a way for you. I’m causing that which was closed yesterday to be opened today. Watch carefully for your opening! You won’t see all that I have for you in the beginning, but I am calling you to the other side. You must go through the opening when you see it form before you. You must make a move to go through! I have brought you to this hard place to make a move of faith. Today is your day of salvation. Move by faith and I will change the complexion of the other side where I’m sending you.

“We must work together at this time. I’ve been working to get the place open for you to go through, so step through and I will come and meet you on the other side. I sent the disciples forth at the right time and said, ‘You cross over.’ Then I came out on the water and walked to the boat. Today I say to you, ‘You make the move and I’ll meet you in days ahead, even in the times that seem rugged.’

“Watch for the sovereign opening that I am creating on your behalf. Be ready. Don’t make a list of what you are looking for on the other side. Just step through the opening! Your present demands are hindering the development of your future. Step through by faith! You are waiting in your own strength. Step out and mount up when I send the wind. Even adverse winds can cause you to rise through and into new places of victory.

I AM not working to give you strength for where you’ve been. I AM working to give you strength to step through and into a place that you cannot understand. Let My place open up, and step through into it. You will be offered an opportunity.”

“You Are Becoming My Weapon for Days Ahead”

“Some of you are trying to stay in the old war you’ve been in instead of hunting for your next war to get into. You’re trying to make sure you are healed up from the wounds of the old war instead of taking all that junk you learned in the last one and say, ‘Let it become my weapon in the future!’ Make a shift! Make a shift! Make a shift! For you are becoming My weapon for days ahead.

“Quit looking at the wars behind and start looking at what is ahead of you. Do not be afraid of the war ahead. Most of you will not be going back the way you’ve come. You keep trying to find your way back even when I am saying step through and into. When the way opens up, step through it. Don’t worry about going back.

“Many have even warred on the wrong side of My plan in the past season, but I am going to breathe on you and you will be transformed. Go through and into the new. You will forget the errors of the past and allegiance to the wrong side, and immediately find yourself on the correct side.

“You are anticipating the war ahead and it is creating a fear within you. What you have been through has already built within you the ability to go in and gain My victory. You are watching the resources on this side but you have not stepped into that which I have in days ahead. I will give you eyes to see how to take one and make a hundred, but I’m going to use different skills in you and I’m going to be creative with things that I have stored up.

“So step through! You are calculating with what you know you have, but I will multiply you with what you do not yet know of when you step through.”

“I Have Made Your Wounds From the Last Season Your Battle Ax for the Next Season”

“The evil eye has been stalking you in the last season. My eye will be guiding you as you go forth into this new season. Your wounds from the last season are causing you to stop short of the best I have ahead for you. These wounds are stopping you from warring for your promises in the new season. I have made your wounds from the last season your battle ax for the next season. You go and I will subdue! You go through and I will subdue! This is a redeeming window.

“I am going to buy back all of what you did wrong. I am going to buy back where you’ve been held captive. I am going to open up a way, and when you step through you’ll be hidden even from that past mess you were in. What is ahead might not be pretty or seem glorious in the beginning, but take advantage of this new opportunity and you can create the glory in the realm that I am calling you to experience.

“You’ve been marching in one army but I am transferring you to another. You’ve been marching to one beat and one drum but I am bringing a different sound and saying, ‘Now MARCH!’ Make your shift, and when you see the opening, go! You will be marching in a new way and I will set the course for your victory.

“I will be with you to open up supply. Let go of the supply storages from the past season that had to be sacrificed. Nothing that was sacrificed by a heart set on Me will be lost. Let go and watch a new plan for your storehouse arise. March on! New supply is on your road ahead.”

Equipping Tools for the Prophetic Ministry Wednesday, Jun 3 2009

I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”  Especially if Pastor Elvin Gladney is preaching!!

This man of God is a dear friend, from Seattle, and you’d do well to sit under his balanced, revelatory, and sometimes hysterical teaching. If someone is going to correct me – I’d like to be laughing!
