God Bless Your Sowing

God Bless Your Sowing

So far as I know – only two things guarantee financial security.  (If you’re a freeloader don’t read any further.)

  • Consistent sowing equals consistent reaping.
  • Consistent saving equals consistent harvest.

Here’s a plain and simple truth. Only $4 daily (i.e. daily coffee) invested at 6%, becomes almost a million bucks in 46 years.  And of course the more you put away the better your return will be.

It makes packing a lunch and foregoing a few luxuries look way different doesn’t it?

To be secure now – and in the future be able to fulfill God’s promises for your life – put this scripture to work for you – “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, shall not cease.”  No sowing – no harvest.  Plain and simple.

Sow generously into fruitful fields – fields you can see produce well.

  • Like Faith Welfare Society who win hundreds of thousands of souls annually.  Then FWS provides education and discipleship for them by planting hundreds of churches and training pastors and leaders. http://www.fwsindia.org
Save as much as you can and invest it safely. Then later you will hear the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)

As for me and my house…. we will serve the Lord. Saturday, Nov 22 2008

An email from Doris Wagner this week, stirred me up.  You readers know I’ve been in a protracted period of prayer and reflection, meditating on God’s word and being thankful.  (See Global Harvest www.globalharvest.org for more from Peter and Doris Wagner.)

I’ve taken excerpts from her letter and put my thoughts with it – hopefully to stir you up also.  This Thanksgiving take time to talk to your family about things that matter – and make family decisions to secure your base and fight for God.

The Bible tells us that there are at least four things that bring a curse on the land itself.  We as a nation have opened ourselves up to all four of these in the last half century or so.

  1. Idolatry (forsaking Jehovah God for the worship of other religions or things.)
  2. Covenant breaking (i.e. not keeping promises as a government to Native Americans.)
  3. The shedding of innocent blood (i.e. through the slaughter of 50 million aborted babies.)
  4. Sexual perversion (fornication, adultery, redefining of marriage, filth and pornography, sexual child abuse and exploitation, etc.).

While morality appears to be sliding to a new low – God has not changed, nor changed His standards.  The world around us may try squeeze us into its mold, but we can refuse to be transformed into its image.

Things are no different today than they were in Ephesus or Corinth in the days of Paul.  He confronted it and did something about it.  People can learn to break these curses over personal lives, marriages, families, churches and territories and to reclaim things bit by bit.  After all, isn’t that how you eat an elephant – one bite at a time?

God has called His people to invade the Seven Mountains (religion, family, education, media, arts and entertainment, government and business)  in such a way as to take back ground given away to Satan and grasp back the dominion God wanted His people to have in the first place (Genesis 1:26).

Time to War!  Time to say, “Okay – if the world tries to change me and my family – we will take a stand for the Lord and fight back! We will embrace all loving them to wholeness. We will do things God’s way and not let the cares of this life lull us to sleep.  We will put God first.”

As Joshua said, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

Apostolic Teams – something special for Thanksgiving Saturday, Nov 22 2008

We're thankful for spiritual food and spiritual fathers.

This is the article I promised you for Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is a time of family, a time for giving thanks and a time to be reminded of things that matter.  I think this qualifies. This isn’t my own study but the spiritual fathers we have taught us these things beginning back in 1996.  It has so changed our lives, we’re eternally grateful.  Enjoy!!

Apostolic Teams -a Group of People Who Carry the Family Mission
by Bill Johnson -Nov 21, 2008

For centuries the people of God have gathered together around specific truths. Denominations and organizations have been formed to unite these groups of Believers. Having common belief systems (see footnote 1 at bottom) has helped to build unity within particular groups and define their purpose. Historically these groups were formed from people who were usually newly saved, or were asked to leave whatever denomination they were previously a part of.

Unity based on common doctrines has a measure of success. But there is an inherent problem with this approach – unity of this nature is based upon uniformity. When God is saying something new (see footnote 2 at bottom), those who are listening are usually asked by their leaders to leave the group they were a part of (see footnote 3 at bottom). Their newly found convictions and beliefs are considered threatening and divisive.

If the whole group doesn’t move in step with what God is saying, there will be a break in fellowship. When agreement in nonessential beliefs are considered necessary for fellowship, then division is natural and to be expected. While doctrine is vitally important it is not a strong enough foundation to bear the weight of His glory that is about to be revealed through true unity.

Change is in the Air

There are major changes in the “wind” right now. For the last several years people have started to gather around fathers instead of doctrine. In the natural, it would be easy to imagine a father with two very different children – one politically liberal and the other conservative. While discussions would probably be quite lively at the evening meal, they would not bring an end to the family.

Gathering around fathers gives a stability that enables people to endure differences in opinion without falling under the influence of the spirit of offense. Fathers bring an element of peace that is impossible without them.

Spiritual Fathers

Apostles are first and foremost fathers by nature. True fathers continually make choices for the well-being of their children with little thought to personal sacrifice. They are not jealous when their children succeed, but instead are overjoyed because of those successes. It is normal for a father to desire his children to surpass him in every way. Brothers compete, fathers do not.

In the same way that a father and mother are to bring stability to a home, so the apostles and prophets are the stability of the Church. The Apostle Paul calls them the Church’s foundation (see Ephesians 2:20). Good foundations bring stability. The concept of team ministry starts with these two. Stability is the primary fruit of the ministry of the apostolic team.

Team Makeup

Apostolic teams are not necessarily made up of just apostles and prophets. They are a group of people that carry the “family mission” without selfish agendas. They are sent by their leadership, and entrusted with delegated authority to establish God’s rule in their realm of experience and expertise. When they go with that heart, they carry an apostolic anointing because they function under the umbrella of the apostle’s authority.

We can’t be co-missioned until we’re in sub-mission to the primary mission. This is true of every Believer before God. But it is especially true of apostolic teams. Setting aside personal agendas is a big part of the success of team ministry. Many teams have failed in their mission because of an individual who wanted his/her gift or opinion to be recognized.

Measure of Rule

A big misunderstanding occurs when apostles think they have the same measure of authority in every geographical location. When Paul went to Jerusalem to participate in the first Apostolic Council (see Acts 15), he submitted his experiences to the other apostles who had also gathered there. It wasn’t until James the apostle in Jerusalem spoke that there were any conclusions.

A true apostle carries their apostolic authority wherever they go, but it is foolish for him to not recognize local authority. The same is true with apostolic teams. It is their respect for the local Church and the Biblical authority that helps them to serve effectively.

Authority, like favor, is for the benefit of others. It is not a title to help in building one’s own self-esteem, and is never for personal gain. For that reason, the Apostle is at the “bottom of the stack”…the “least of all.” The title simply recognizes function. And that function is to make others better and more complete in their walk with the Lord.

The Purpose of the Title

Throughout history, there have been many ordinary individuals who have become desperate for God in unusual ways and have sought God with reckless abandon. The encounters they had with God made them appear extraordinary. Their breakthrough made them household names with remarkable gifts and ministries. But when God gives someone an unusual gift, it is never for the purpose of acquiring admiration and fame, or even drawing big crowds. Those things are normal byproducts, but they are not the purpose.

The place of favor that one gets as a result of God’s unusual touch on their lives is a God-given position to equip others. It is God’s heart to take those high points of human experience in the man or woman of God and make them the new norm for the Believer. Equipping the saints becomes the focus of true fathers.

The Spirit of Revelation

One of the things that helped to keep the early Church strong and healthy was their continual devotion to the apostles’ doctrine (see Acts 2:42). However, you’ll notice that there is no mention of a list of beliefs that the Bible declares to be the official record of important doctrines. It is safe to say the “apostles’ doctrine” is referring to something other than a specific list.

Peter understood this when he exhorted the Church concerning “present truth” (see 2 Peter 1:12). That phrase is to direct our attention to that which the Lord is emphasizing for this season. That is the apostle’s doctrine. The word coming from apostles is to bring clarification of the Father’s focus for the Church, and in turn strengthen our resolve to His purposes. Fresh revelation carries fresh fire, which helps us to maintain the much needed fire in our souls.

Apostles carry a blueprint in their hearts concerning the Church and God’s purposes on the earth. They are used to bring fresh revelation to the Church. Apostolic teams are sent to represent their spiritual father, and carry the word that has been entrusted to their “tribe.” They help bring an understanding and establish an order needed in the particular location they were sent to.

The Need for Others

God never gives the whole picture of His plan for the Church to one father/apostle, or even to one tribe. Scriptures declare that “we” have the mind of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 2:6), not “I.” Dependence upon the whole is essential for us to grow up in a way that pleases Christ. As the various “tribes” learn to work together we will see a more complete picture of the Father’s intent for planet Earth.

The revelation carried by Apostles and the five-fold ministry will result in a Church coming to a common knowledge of the Son of God (see Ephesians 4). Much division presently exists in this area. He is our common focus. A study of the Scriptures without the Holy Spirit giving understanding creates much religious conflict. Division exists because people are committed to different levels of truth that appear contradictory.

Fathers are necessary to sort these things out. Variety without uniformity is important. These teams carry revelation to help the Church to live out of a common revelation of Jesus – who He is and who we are because of Him. God’s aim is to fulfill His word in 1 John 4:17 – “As He is, so are we in this world.” We are to become like the Jesus revealed in Revelation, Chapter 1 – resurrected and glorified. We are not headed for the Cross – we live “from” the Cross. Apostolic revelation has that in mind.

The Day of Power

One of the more notable prophets of our day recently told me that he wouldn’t be able to come into all that God had created him for until the apostles came forth to their appointed place. The apostles help release the prophets into their destiny, and vice versa. In a sense they complete each other.

Apostolic order without apostolic power is to be questioned. Order based on Biblical principle that is lacking Biblical power is tragic at best and deceptive at worst. Order does not exist unto itself. The wineskin exists for the wine. The wine is the focus. All order exists to house God Himself – not to restrict Him, but to accurately express Him.

Wineskins need to flex in order to be useful, because of the expanding nature of the wine in the fermenting process. The Holy Spirit brings constant change and to house Him means to embrace flexibility as a way of life. The goal is not to create a perfect structure or government. It is to create one that recognizes Him, and flexes with His changes.

Last Days Assignment

All of this serves one purpose – Jesus is returning for a Bride. For this to happen, the harvest must be brought in and must be “cleaned.” He’s not returning for a Bride that He has to heal up and put together like a puzzle in Heaven. He is returning for a Bride whose body is in equal proportion to her head, and whose parts work together in coordination. It’s called a “glorious Church, without spot or wrinkle” (see Ephesians 5:27) in Scripture. Anything less is an illegitimate vision.

The Bride is to make herself ready for that day (see Revelation 19:7). As Larry Randolph puts it, “It is a perversion to think that Jesus will dress the Bride before the wedding.” Our assignment is clear, and the gifts are in place. And they are all expressions of Jesus Himself. But they are simple in purpose. Represent Jesus to the world!

The fire of God must rest in the souls of men. Christians without passion are almost as great a mystery as Christians without purpose. Apostolic teams carry fresh fire with divine purpose. They enlist men and women to God’s dream, and in the process the Church steps into her destiny.

Footnotes:
1. There are three basic levels of Biblical doctrine. 1. There are doctrines that are essential to the Christian faith – for example, Jesus is the eternal Son of God. 2. Then there are doctrines that are important, but not essential – for example, how we use the gifts of the Spirit in a church service. 3. And finally, there are doctrines that are good but not essential – for example, the exact nature and timing of Christ’s return.

2. This is never in addition to Scriptures; instead He unveils what is already there.

3. This is far from an absolute rule, as many leaders are in tune to what God is saying. However, some are more concerned with preserving past accomplishments over and above the advancement of the Kingdom. This creates a weakness that tends to miss God’s present word.

About Bill and Beni Johnson: Bill and Brenda (Beni) Johnson are the Senior Pastors of Bethel Church. Bill is a fifth generation pastor with a rich heritage in the things of the Spirit. Together they serve a growing number of churches that have partnered for revival. This apostolic network has crossed denominational lines in building relationships that enable church leaders to walk in both purity and power. Beni has a call to intercession that is an integral part of the Bethel Church mission. She is in charge of the Bethel’s Prayer House, ministry teams and the intercessors. The Lord has given her a heart for broken people of all ages.

The present move of God has brought Bill into a deeper understanding of the phrase, “on Earth as it is in Heaven.” Healing and deliverance must become the common expression of this Gospel of power once again. Bill and the Bethel Church family have taken on this theme for life and ministry. Healings, ranging from cancer to broken bones, to learning disorders and emotional healing, happen with regularity. The church is learning how to take this anointing to the schools, workplace, and neighborhoods with similar results.

Giving Thanks to John P. Kelly and Carlos H. Diaz Saturday, Nov 22 2008

Ps. 136.1 Give Thanks to the LORD for He is good. His love endures forever.

Psalm 136.1 Give Thanks to the LORD for He is good!

This a time of reflection and thanksgiving I have been meditating and “counting my spiritual blessings.”

I’ve come to realize through both my genealogical family research and nearly 40 years of Biblical studies – God has a divine plan for each life. And before you say, “yes, duh” hear me out.

Our spiritual dna comes both from our Father in heaven, and from our earthly fathers who lived for Jesus and prayed for their offspring.

So I’m giving thanks with a grateful heart for our incredible two awesome spiritual Fathers!  Carlos Diaz is one of John Kelly’’s many sons.  They have taught us what Fathering (read parenting) means in such living terms we’ve found great personal satisfaction in being just who we are.

We’ve enjoyed growing in Christ in ways that God has intended to enhance who He has made us – both since our birth and before our birth through our parents, grandparents and other Godly ancestors.

Expanding our understanding, our focus and our influence even further – God has given us great mothers in the faith.  John’s dear wife – Helena and Carlos sweet wife – Millie.  Both these women are women of excellence in their own right.  Both are intercessors, apostolic and prophetic by nature, and conference speakers.  Both bring to our lives things their husbands cannot.

As a woman of God – I have received such pin-point corrections and accurate direction from both of them I can say I am forever changed.  Their confirmation of who God has made me has been foundational and provided an abundant release for my callings and giftings.

These two couples taught us what mentoring means.  It is the same it has always been.  Biblically you see Elisha served Elijah, and Timothy served Paul, they were mentored by love and by having a servant’s heart.  Sharing life with one another is so appropriate in today’s age as so many have not been parented and don’t have a clue what being mentored means.

This is why I am publically expressing my heart of gratitude and thanksgiving to the Kelly and the Diaz families.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  We owe you love debts that can never be repaid.  God Bless you!  We love you so much.

Having said all that – yes, dear reader, it was an introduction – I want to quote another man of God we dearly love and respect – Bill Johnson – regarding Apostolic Teams. It relates to fathering so powerfully.  But that I will do in my next post.  Keep reading.

Happy Thanksgiving – don’t forget to be truly Thankful as you enjoy food, family and friends.

The Shofar Tuesday, Nov 18 2008

This is an article from a dear sister, a rabbi friend of mine who lives in New Hampshire.  We met in 2001 when Apostle John P. Kelly called his intercessors and friends together to come to the place where God first called him.  Rabbi Joyce is a dear woman, a senior citizen who blows a shofar.  She and 2 other ladies were there – all with shofars.  I was deeply impacted by her wisdom, her zeal, her intellect, and her passion for her Savior and friend – Yeshua.  She lovingly calls me “her Gentile who provokes her to jealousy.” I send her my difficult questions – questions that require a Hebrew mindset and understanding.

What is the Shofar?

On the third day when it was morning, there was thunder and lightning and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of the shofar was very powerful, and the entire people that was in the camp shuddered.  (Exodus 19:16 Tanach.)

The shofar is also known as the ram’s horn and had various uses in Scripture.  The Scriptures speak of nine different ways in which the shofar is to be used.

1.  To call the Assembly – Numbers 10:2-3

2.  To signal of direct the people – Numbers 10:6

3.  To sound an alarm or battle – Numbers 10:9; Joshua 6:5; Judges 7; Jeremiah 4:19; 1 Corinthians 14:8

4.  To call the people to worship – Numbers 10:10; Psalm 98:4-6

5.  Blown in the presence of God – 2 Samuel 6:15; 1 Chronicles 16:6

6.  At the coronation of Kings – 1 Kings 1:39

7.  To call the people to consecrate themselves – Joel 1:14; 2:15 – 16.

8.  To announce the coming of God’s judgment – Joel 2:1; Revelation Chap. 8 – 10.

9.  To herald the coming of the LORD – Revelation 11:15; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 1 Corinthians 15:52.

The Shofar represents the Voice of God and the voice of the prophet.  But, the shofar was also blown by the priests to point the people to the Messiah.  Indeed, the shofar is truly an instrument very closely associated with Hebraic worship, but did you know that the shofar is also closely associated with the Messiah?

There are six sounds of the shofar blown to point the people to the Messiah – they are;

1.  The sound of Revelation – Exodus 19:16, 19

2.  The sound of Redemption – Isaiah 27:13

3.  The sound of Release (Freedom) – Leviticus 25:9-10

4. The sound of Rest – Exodus 20:8

5.  The sound of Repentance

6.  The sound of Resurrection

One of the most thrilling things is to hear the shofar being blown.

How does the shofar related to the ministry of Yeshua/

The shofar is associated with Yeshua in two ways.  He is acknowledged by both Jew and Gentile to have been a prophet and as such His spoken words were like the voice of the shofar.  Words like, “Destroy this Temple and in three days I will raise it up.” (John 2:19).  However, He also spoke as the voice of YHVH as in John 8:58 – where He said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I AM.” With this pronouncement, Yeshua spoke of His deity.

When the shofar is blown, it calls for a reaction from those that hear it.  The people that stood at the base of the mountain when it sounded, “shuddered” (Exodus 19:16) in fear.  The words of Yeshua in John 2:19 caused the Pharisees to seek to stone him.  When Gideon’s army blew the shofar, it sent confusion into the camp of the Midianites (the enemy) (Judges 7:19-25.)

We can learn much from Hebraic nderstanding regarding the blowing of the Shofar.  However, there is one fact we must recognize – the Shofar is not an instrument of escapism.  it is an instrument of preparation.  Many equate the shofar with the ‘rapture” and see Rosh HaShannah as pointing to this event.  However, if one is to study how the Jews see Rosh HaShannah, they would understand it is a time of preparation for Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) which follows ten days afterwards (Leviticus 23:24-32.) Yom Kippur is a time when we are called to humble ourselves before YHVH (verses 23, 24.)

Leviticus 25:8-10 commands that the Shofar be blown on the Day of Atonement in the Jubilee year.  The tenth verse of Leviticus 25 says, “You shall thus consecrate the fifiteth year and proclaim a release through the land to all its inhabitants.  It shall be a Jubiliee for you, and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family’.

Rabbinical tradition teaches that a the end of the Day of Atonement in the Jubilee year, the Shofar is soundds throughout the Jewish communities all over the world and the books are closed.  Within three and half to five days after the close of Yom Kippur (depending upon which calendar one uses), the Shofar again sounds ushering in the Feast of Tabernacles (also known as Sukkot for the Feast of Booths – Leviticus 23:24-36.) Zechariah 14:16 clearly associates the Feast of Tabernacles with the millennial reign of the Messiah.  Therefore it must be seen that the shofar played an important role in YHVH’s plan for Israel in the past.

As a weapon of warfare it will play an important role in the near future and ultimately it will gather YHVH’s family home to be with Him eternally.

<(:::< Years ago, David Wilkerson wrote and published a great book called, “Set a Trumpet to Thy Mouth” – it is this book reviewed today that caused me to write the last two articles – “The Characteristics of Zion”  and this one “The Shofar.”  As well, in 2002 he preached a message called, “The Trumpet is Sounding But No One is Listening” (see http://www.worldchallenge.org/en/node/1160) that bears re-reading.

Characteristics of Zion Tuesday, Nov 18 2008

ZION

Zion is a place, the place of the high calling!  Because the people of God are also called Zion – (see below the numbered list) it makes sense for us to understand this fully.  We need to be able to defend our faith, our beliefs, and know why we are what we are – from the inerrant Word of God, the Bible.  It’s also wonderful to study and be blessed by how our loving Father paints word pictures so that we might better understand His heart of love for us.

The study below is taken from the Book of Isaiah, where “Zion” is mentioned 46 times. Study to see what attributes Zion has – that the Lord has worked in your life.  If you fall short in an area – this is the season to pray and ask for the fruits of the Spirit to be made manifest in you!

1. Zion is the place to which the nations shall come (Isaiah 2:3).

2. Zion is the place of the Lord’s presence and glory (Isaiah 4:5)

3. Zion is the place of signs and wonders, the place where Yahweh dwells. (Isaiah 8:18).

4. Zion is the place of God’s greatness (Isaiah 12:6).

5. Zion is the place of the sure foundation (Isaiah 28:16).

6. Zion is the place of answered prayer (Isaiah 30:19).

7. Zion is the place of the fiery furnace (Isaiah 31:9).

8. Zion is the place of justice and righteousness (Isaiah 33:5).

9. Zion is the place of peace, safety, and stability (Isaiah 33:20).

10. Zion is the place of joy and gladness (Isaiah 35:10).

11. Zion is the place of the righteous remnant (Isaiah 37:32).

12. Zion is the place of fearlessness (Isaiah 40:9).

13. Zion is the place of salvation and deliverance (Isaiah 46:3).

14. Zion is the place of comfort and restoration (Isaiah 51:3).

15. Zion is the place of the beauty of holiness (Isaiah 52:1).

16. Zion is the place of the Good News (Isaiah 52:7).

17. Zion is the place of unity and agreement (Isaiah 52:8).

18. Zion is the place of redemption (Isaiah 59:20).

19. Zion is the place of the Lord’s recompense (Isaiah 60:14).

20. Zion is the place of praise (Isaiah 61:3).

21. Zion is the place of birthing the Manchild (Isaiah 66:8).

ZION = sometimes called the spiritual Sion, the church or city of the living. God (Hebrews 12:22,28; Galatians 4:26; Revelation 3:12; 21:2,10). (from McClintock and Strong Encyclopedia),

Ballad for Baghdad – by Ali Elizabeth Turner Monday, Nov 17 2008

I want to highly recommend this book, “Ballad for Baghdad – An Ex-Hippie Chick, Viet Nam War Protester’s Three Years in Iraq.“  Go online and get it at amazon.com – author Ali Elizabeth Turner.  If you know me well, you might want to wait until after the holidays – cause I’m giving as many as I can afford.

ballad-for-baghdad1

Not only has Ali been a close personal friend since 1972, her story has been confirmed by our own friends and relatives who have been in Iraq.

If you take time to read it – you’ll learn the true story behind the lies perpetrated by the News media and a liberal goverment.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll probably get mad, and you’ll want to tell every vet you know “thank you.”

You’ll especially want to take time to thank God for our rights, our constitutional freedoms – and thank Him for the men and women over the centuries who have quaranteed them with their blood.

When I’m wrong – I’ll say so. Monday, Nov 17 2008

The following is a draft I did about a month ago.  Then I got sick, had a surgery and then we traveled, and now the election is over.

Now I am praying for and supporting our President Elect Barak Obama and his family.  I pray everyone does pray for him – it’s our right, our privilege and our duty.  I’m sure if any of us were in his shoes, we’d appreciate it also.  We must be in prayer for him as a nation – because whether we are white, black, hispanic, asian, republican, democrat, liberal or purple people eaters – we are ALL Americans.

BUT – I wanted to let the blogger know I do admit my errors – and tell him thank you for being honest with me.

One of my blog readers pointed out that Barak Hussein’s birth certificate was posted on the net long ago.   It appears to be a certified copy so I was wrong about that.  Here’s the url – see for yourself.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/06/obama-birth.html

This same individual also said, “the education tax credit will only be offered when students then pledge to give community service to the country through either, peace corps, the military, americorps or other community organizations.

My question is this – who will guarantee that they actually do the community service when oftimes neither parents nor teachers can get them to class……. another government agency?

As for the rest of the comments in the letter I approved – if his wife (who is wealthy enough in her own right to go on without him) and his children think he’s a great father, if people I know who have known him decades think he’s a fine father – why on earth would I believe a liberal media?

I can never vote for a man who actually votes to kill the unborn – nor one who votes that a babe who survives an abortion should not receive medical help.  Never.

I can never vote for a man who will hurt Israel.  Never.  Obama is the candidate most favored by the Arab community.

Check out their stands on various issues at http://www.issue2008.com/

Check out their voting records. http://www.votesmart.org/index.htm

I polled my younger friends (30 something) for their reasons they would not vote for Obama.

My african-american “daughter” says this; I would not vote for Obama for the following reasons: 1. He is pro-obortion and has stated that one of the first things he would do once in office is sign the freedom of choice act. He said this as a spokes person for planned parenthood. 2. He believes in taking from the rich to give to the poor via the government. He is a socialist. I believe that is the responsibility of the individual to take care of the poor, widow, and orphan. 3. He does not believe in taking a stand for Israel no matter what it takes. I believe that as president he would not take a stand for Israel. 4. I do not believe that he is opposed to the belief system of pastor Jeremiah Wright (who in my opinion does not like whites and hates America). His relationship with Pastor Wright scares me.

My hispanic “daughter” says this; 1. I say ditto to all. To add to your final one, I believe many of his wife’s comments over the last two years also reflect a general disdain that the Obamas feel toward our country.  I am NOT comfortable electing a leader who does not love the people and the nation he would lead. 2. I would add to the list the type of judges Obama would appoint – both to the Supreme Court and to federal circuits. This is one of the most important aspects of electing a president. I believe Obama would pick activist judges rather than constructionist judges, meaning those who would expand, refine, and create new laws unaccountable to the people of the United States, rather than strictly interpret laws written by legislators who are accountable to the people. 3. I would also add that I oppose his health care plan, which would put the welfare of the American public into the hands of inefficient bureaucrats, taking away the right and responsibility of the individual to decide what is best for their own life. 4. I would also add that his plan for the youth of this nation – although seemingly well-meaning – is an insidious, antichrist (the spirit, not the man) plan to take $500 billion of taxpayer money in order to indoctrinate the youth of America with socialist ideals.  Read this article carefully to find out what I’m talking about.    http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=305420655186700.

Household help to clean and de-clutter Monday, Nov 17 2008

This has worked for us – feel free to use it as you will.  It’s for us – so you will have to change it – and maybe have individuals initial their task – we put ours in a plastic sleeve.

You’ll might need to use 2 Thessalonians 3:10 – “if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat either.”  God intended for us to work and to enjoy it.  (See earlier post on W-O-R-K.)
