A dear friend recently visited our home and found an oasis of peace. Hers was not the trouble of trials, but of seeking God for direction for the passion He put within her. That too is troubling. That sort of trouble is apt to cause sleepless nights, mindless staring, and wordless wondering – and family and friends to worry.
She found what she sought – not so much from us – but from our oasis. A simple ranch-style home, hung with baskets of bright blooming flowers and herbs. Containers also sparkling with color and scent huddling around the chaise lounges by the pool. Wonderful Houston spring weather – not too warm, not cold at all, and very low humidity. Doesn’t just the thought of that make you want to visit??
But the secret of our oasis is not in what you see and smell, nor the warmth of our love and fellowship.
Our secret is the peace of God that pervades our home.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance.I think the most critical part of our lives is making Jesus Lord early in the morning.
Taking time before everything else to enjoy Him and spend time listening to Him, or sharing our hearts with Him. Often, in our garden, waking up the morning with the birds. There we celebrate His Love for us, His awesome, incredible, unconditional, passionate love. And we rest. Before we begin our day – we rest with Him.
