Wounded Warrior??? Monday, Feb 11 2008
Bible Studies and Morning Meanderings and Prayer Intercession prayer, intercession, Chuck Pierce, Robert Heidler, forgiveness, wounded warrior, shield of faith, Ephesians 6:16, Psalm 28:7 11:06 pm
I see many intercessors who are no longer able to fight out there. These are folks of integrity, purpose, grit, and they love the Lord and His people. But they are wounded so as to keep them off the wall, out of the battles, and barely making it in their own lives and families at times.
Why does this happen?
How do the attacks of the enemy wound and paralyze one who loves to be in God’s presence for others?
A revelation the Lord gave me once had to do with the scripture in Ephesians 6:16 which says “In addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”
I found it interesting that with the shield of faith you will be able to extinguish ALL the enemy’s arrow. And ALL in that verse means ALL. Every one of them, all of them.
So – knowing this, I asked of the Lord, “Why do so many with such great faith get sidelined by wounds? Why are there so many walking wounded? Why am I decimated so easily when I trust You so much?”
John P. Kelly says, “New levels, new devils”, and I can’t agree more. Every time you are rewarded for being faithful with more to be faithful over there is a new level of attack.
The most grievous and hurtful of these attacks are betrayals by friends and family, mentors and leaders. They are the ones you pray for most and those you love the most. They are also ones who love you the most. These are the most painful wounds the warriors have and the wounds most difficult to recover from.
These woundings are an open door to fears. Fear of being hurt again. Fears that you are not the faith-filled Christian you think you are. Fear that God will not use you again. On and on.
Most warriors excel in quick repentance, quick forgiveness, and moving on. Most warriors know more scripture than the Christian in the pew. Thus it makes sense that they would be targeted. And because of their great faith and their desire to see the Kingdom come, the enemy has to knock them out. He has 6000 years experience doing so.
BUT if ALL means ALL – then what has happened?
I believe the Lord gave me an incredible understanding on this topic when I went through a betrayal of the deepest degree. He spoke to my heart and said, “You must put your shield of faith up! It’s down, put it up!”
As I began to intercede for myself and began to visualize my shield being raised, He spoke again. He said, “Put it up and to keep it up, you must forgive as I forgive, and say ‘Father, they don’t know what they are doing, forgive them”’.
Instantly I understood. It would be extremely rare that anyone of the wounded warriors would have in their circle of trust a person meanhearted enough to desire to wound them. We don’t have such demonized folks that they know what they are doing aligning with Satan, even if they think they do, they don’t. Most of the people who are able to get under our shield with fiery darts to the heart are simply fleshing out. And most repent sooner or later, excusing themselves. I have done the same thing with my mouth and been instantly convicted.
To actively participate with Satan using full knowledge of these pain causing wickedeness, it’s extremely rare in most circles.
So – we are to put our shield up and say in our hearts at the moment of attack saying, ”Father, forgive them they don’t know what they’re doing” – as Jesus did at Calvary. Few of us have yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in striving against sin (Hebrews 12:4).
We can lift up our shield. We can by simply doing it, for we have a shield that wants to be lifted up, and wants to protect us. For is not Jesus Himself our shield?? Psalm 28:7 tells us, “The LORD is my strength and my shield”.
Moreover, with our shield up, it is impossible to hold grudges, forever reminding ourselves of the wounding! It is afterall, the shield of FAITH! We walk by faith, not by sight! (2 Corinthians 5:7) We fight the good fight of FAITH (1 Timothy 6:12). Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
We must remember that our enemy is not the person, but the rulers, against the powers, the world forces of this darkness, the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. This is who we fight against. Ephesians 6:12
To be honest – this is one scripture all warriors know inside and out. They are skilled and seasoned fighting against these spiritual forces.
Which brings me to the 2nd thing the Lord said, “Be vigilant. Do not be surprised when My enemy uses those closest to you to bring hurt. Do not receive the hurt. Do not hold grudges. Do not fear being rewounded. Turn it on the enemy and cry war!”
Cry WAR my friends. Take this revelation God gave me when I needed it and cry WAR!
If you want to really stir up your faith and receive even greater understanding and healing, read Chuck Pierce and Robert Heidler’s book, “Restoring Your Shield of Faith”.
My husband and I recently sold Chuck’s books at a conference held by our friend, Lora Allison, in Houston. I quickly read through this book. So when I perceived a wounded warrior in front of the table wanting to purchase a book, I simply asked “Are you a wounded warrior?” All I asked said, “Yes.” I told them what I’ve just told you and recommended this book.
Now I recommend it to you. It will increase your faith, eliminate fears of re-wounding, and get you back shouting, WAR!
I hate mosquitos!! Sunday, Feb 3 2008
Pain management and Rants mosquitos, Texas 6:22 am
I hate mosquitos.
I can think of no good reason for them – except to provide food for the bats (which I love.)
They are sick little creatures! When the sick little demented mosquito stabs through the skin of her victim (me), she injects her saliva — teeming with gross and disgusting digestive enzymes and anticoagulants. With subsequent bites, the person (me) goes into a mad frenzy because of the foreign proteins, and itchy, fiery red bumps appear almost immediately. Then the person (me) scratches. Then she wishes she didn’t because she’s diabetic and it’s a problem. Then she remembers to take an antihistamine and put preparation H on it. (No comments! My 13-year old niece told me about it 3 years ago and it works!)
It’s sick. You try to live green, live organic, but Texas has SUCH mosquitos. (I know stop whining – think of people in the Sudan, or China, or Mozambique and grow up!)
And I think I’m going to have to start praying about this – because I am totally at their mercy and that is NOT as it should be – because I am seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. I will start by doing what I know is right – and claiming my promise -
Psalm 124:6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.
In the meantime, I still hate mosquitos! And in case you think I was unprepared – I wasn’t. I sprayed disgusting smelling insect repellent on before they appeared. The little creeps just like my blood. I hate them!!!
No more excuses Friday, Feb 1 2008
Ministry Gifts & Callings and Morning Meanderings "Church Shift", Godtube.com, great commission, Nick Vujicic, no more excuses, Sunday Adelaja 11:33 pm
Two things happened to me in the last 24 hours.
I read Sunday Adelaja’s book, “Church Shift”. Get it. Read it.
I watched this video on Godtube:
http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=9bc6025b51155e26f6ce
It’s about a young man, Nick Vujicic, who gets along without arms or legs.
All my excuses for not being who God has made me are gone.
I am empowered, fired up, and challenging everyone I know to come up higher.
We must.
If God is hindered in our lives it is because we have not obeyed His command to “Go ..into highways and byways, compel them to come in” and “Go…disciple nations”. We’ve been pretty good sitting in our pretty boxes and secret gardens, stuffing ourselves on worship and messages. But can we say we have taken the challenge of the Spirit and taken back what the enemy has stolen from us?
Have we exercised our dominion and set captives free? Have we changed our cities, our states, our nations?
I fell short.
How about you?
The evening of a stormy morn Friday, Feb 1 2008
Poetry and Politics and Prayer Intercession 6:32 am
It’s the evening of a stormy morn
When lightening, thunder and wind
Beat upon my windows to warn
So I got up and I just grinned.
I know who rules the world,
I know who rules the seas,
And HIS lovely banner unfurled
Is HIS tender care of me.
Storms come and storms go
And I can control none of them.
But HIS love HE will bestow
This native Son of Bethlehem.
Jesus is my light and my wonder.
He is my friend and my lover.
Tornadoes, hurricanes or thunder
No matter – I am under His cover.
The evening sky is gray and pink
And the storms have long gone.
I sit here beginning to think
to pray for the political echelons.
Oh, you say, it’s to no avail.
They are so very compromised.
Let’s their activities curtail,
We want change amplified.
Me too, I want real change.
Protect people and our earth!
Away with promises so strange,
Babies killed before their birth.
What’s one vote, one prayer?
One vote made states, passed laws
And elected politicans everywhere.
I will not my prayers withdraw!
Evenings come and go each day.
My life is my only opportunity.
My chance I’ll not give away
And give satan no amnesty!
Get up on your watchtower!
Saints – come alive and pray.
Call out to God to empower
Politicans to HIM obey!
More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.
Alfred Lord Tennyson 1809 – 1892
